The switching temperature of the automatic shutters and the automatic fan should be adjusted to the thermostat switching temperature range used. Table 11-24 is the adjustment range of automatic shutters and automatic fans generally used. The thermostats of 82 to 91 to c (180 to 195 ~ f) are only closed at 86 to c, and the automatic louver window supporting in 91 to c is operated.
1. Chemical cleaning
If rust and scale, the system should be chemically clean. Use a good cooling cleaning agent such as sodium hydrogen sulfate or oxalic acid, then neutralizing agent and rinsing.
2. Pressure rinsing
Rinse the heat sink and cylinder block before adding antifreeze, or add a water filter on the used or large diesel engine.
When the pressure is turned on the radiator, turn on the upper and lower hose connections and tighten the heat exchanger cover. It can be convenient to use the hose joint on the upper and lower water pipe connections. Connect the water gun nozzle to the water tube to make the water full of heat sink. The air pressure is then gradually increased to avoid swelling heat sink. Stop intake, let the heat radiator re-enter the water, then add gas pressure, repeatedly procedure until the water from the heat radiator is clear.

Remove the thermostat from the thermostat housing to check its switching temperature (Table 11-24).
Most Cummins diesel machines are equipped with 77 ~ 85 ~ c (170 ~ 185 ~ f) medium temperature thermostat and 71 ~ 79 ~ c (160 ~ 175 ~ f) low temperature thermostat, in a small number of cases due to the use of diesel engines 82 ~ 91 ~ c (180-195 ~ f) high temperature thermostat.
